“Art Saves” is a hybrid digital artwork created by Cosimo Palermo based on a true story that occurred in the Netherlands in November 2020. In the Netherlands, a whale statue saved a derailed train . In Rotterdam, a curious plastic installation prevented what could have been a terrible train tragedy. The derailed subway cars were saved by the sculpture's tail, preventing them from falling into the water. The train driver was unharmed. Created with Inkscape using advanced fill, vectorization, and tracking techniques, this digital print combines photography and illustration.
